Android 5.1 Official, may roll out to Nexus devices by end of Feb

Google has finally made Android 5.1 official. However, the only change logs and the release dates are what are hearsay. A changelog that was leaked in mid of December does outline one of the few highlights that we provided regarding the UI.

The complete leaked change log is below.

  • Silent mode added after missing on Android 5.0
  • General improvements in system stability
  • Improved RAM management
  • Fixes for sudden app closures
  • Improved battery management
  • Excessive consumption of network devices when used Wi-Fi fixed
  • Issues with wireless connections fixed
  • Problems with Okay Google function solved
  • Notifications problems solved
  • Some sound problems experience by certain devices fixed
  • Other improvements and changes
  • Changes in the Material Design color palette (after users complaints, possibly for a higher version though)

If the rumor mills are to be believed, the update would start rolling out to the Nexus devices as soon as the end of this month.
