Lava brings the XOLO Win Q1000 running Windows Phone 8.1 to India

Going with the Indian Prime Minister's call for Make in India, Lava has just launched the XOLO Win Q1000 smartphone running Windows 8.1 OS in the already over crowded Indian smartphone market. The device would be priced at INR 8499 and would compete with the likes of Lumia and Low Budget Android phones. Until now, the only options that one had in the budget Windows phones were the phones that Microsoft had in its Lumia 5XX and the newly launched 4XX range. With this, the market would definitely heat up and bring in more choice to the customer which is necessarily a great thing as always!

  • Dimensions (LxWxD): 143 x 71.3 x 8.8 mm
  • Dual-Sim support
  • 1.2 GHz Quad Core, MSM 8212 Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Processor
  • 5-inch Display, 720 x 1280 resolution, 294 PPI
  • 8MP rear camera
  • 2 MP FFC
  • 1080p video recording
  • Scene detection
  • Micro SD card support up to 32 GB
  • 8 GB internal storage
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 2200 mAh battery
Point to be seen now is if Microsoft would make available to Lava all those primary and unique apps that it makes available on the entire Lumia range.

While the release dates and the general availability is still a question, we will keep you posted the minute we hear about the same.

BTW, is it just me or does the phone resemble one of the recent HTC devices in the form factor??
